Every week, we here at WinterIsComing.net gather on a live stream to discuss the latest goings-on in the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, movies, TV and books. This week, we start with the announcements from Disney's latest D23 conference, where they gave updates on a whole bunch of Star Wars and Marvel TV shows and movies on the way. By and large, we are underwhelmed, but surely we're excited about at least one of these projects? Find out which!

From there, we dive into HBO's upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which premieres next year. We can't say how well it will go over, but the cast and crew is looking excellent. We get into why. So long as they don't veer wildly off book for no easily discernible reason, the show should be a slam dunk.

Finally, we defend the fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy, which has taken a lot of flak from fans online. Was this the dumpster fire so many fans say it is, or did they simply not vibe with otherwise solid twists? We get into it all! Watch below:

Somehow we also find ourselves in a philosophical discussion about the value of attachments to the material world, and whether detachment makes you happier or diminishes your capacity for deep feeling. Here at WiC, we don't rest until we uncover the secret truths of the universe, all for you. And we still have time for the WiC News Lightning Round, where we give our 20-second takes on random bits of news from the past week.
