It's the first episode of our podcast Take the Black since the conclusion of House of the Dragon season 2, which means it's time to sort through the fallout.

And there was a lot of fallout. Reception to the season 2 finale was not kind. How much is justified, how did we get here, and is there reason to be optimistic going forward? We dig into it in the new episode below:

However you feel about House of the Dragon, we'll be returning to Westeros before too long: the new Game of Thrones prequel series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is on the way! In fact, we got the first official footage, and it's looking good. Oh, and apparently there are seven other spinoffs in various levels of development. Put a pin in that.

HBO has quite a lot of interesting shows coming up, including The Penguin, Dune: Prophecy, The Franchise, The Gilded Age, IT: Welcome to Derry and the second season of The Last of Us. All of these at least look worth a look, and God himself couldn't keep me away from the third season of The White Lotus. We break it all down.

We also find time to preview the fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy, which Natalie was able to watch ahead of time. No spoilers, but we think fans will be happy. And of course, no episode of Take the Black would be complete with the What Are We Watching and WiC News Lightning Round segments.
