Believe it or not, there's only one episode left in the second season of House of the Dragon. This has been a wild season with dizzying highs and sluggish lows. The show has been gaining a lot of momentum with the past couple of episodes, but is that enough to make up for the slow parts, especially with only one episode left?

We discuss that and more on the latest episode of Take the Black, which is all about the penultimate episode of House of the Dragon, "The Red Sowing." This one brought the heat. That final scene where hopeful dragonriders faced down the mighty dragon Vermithor was worth the price of admission by itself. We also got great scene with Aegon and Jace, and even Daemon Targaryen started to pull his weight, a small miracle after it's been dragging for weeks now.

But we're close enough to the end that we're ready to call out the season for some of its flaws. We dig into it all in the latest episode of Take the Black, our weekly chat show. Roll the new episode below:

We also talk a bit about what's coming in the finale, which looks very promising indeed. Agree or disagree with any of our takes? Let us know, either in the comments here or when we go live every week!

There's one episode of House of the Dragon left in its second season. The trailer looks nuts, so I'm hopeful that the finale punches us all in the gut. Join us next Sunday night right after the episode airs so we can break it all down with you! We stream live on the WinterIsComing YouTube and Facebook pages. And if you're not sick of us, come back every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. CST, when we talk about other things happening in the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, movies, books and TV.
