Take the Black: The good, the bad and the underwhelming of House of the Dragon Episode 201
By Dan Selcke
The second season of House of the Dragon has officially kicked off HBO and Max with "A Son for a Son," a brutal episode. All season long, we're going to break down and review each episode right after they air on our chat show Take the Black, which you can watch live on our YouTube and Facebook pages. Below, check out our insights into "A Son for a Son" (sorry about the unrelated chatter at the very beginning and very end of the show; I'm getting used to this new program we're using and will have it down pat next week):
Did we enjoy visiting the North for the first time on House of the Dragon? Was Rhaenyra sidelined for the show's big return? How much fun was King Aegon, and what did we think of the climactic ending scene? How did it compare to the book Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin? We dig into it all.
The Take the Black Podcast is on iTunes and YouTube Music! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.
Again, we'll be recapping each new episode of House of the Dragon right after they air on Sunday nights, and you're welcome to join the discussion live on our YouTube and Facebook pages. You can also watch it after the fact in posts like this. We also stream episodes of Take the Black every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., because there are other things to talk about besides House of the Dragon...we assume.
That said, we're taking this upcoming Wednesday off, so no show on June 19. And sorry again for the technical hiccup this week. We're all learning!
