3) The fate of Daenerys Targaryen

I, along with many other fans, had been rooting for Daenerys Targaryen since she was just a timid girl with a bunch of scary wedding gifts (yes, dragons in eggs, quite the present). Over the seasons, she grows into an awe-inspiring, dragon-riding, fireproof queen who's all about breaking chains and frying slavers. We were chanting "Kahleesi" every Sunday night for almost eight whole years.

Then comes the final season and our beloved heroine turns into a tyrant with a taste for barbecued cities in the span of two or three episodes. We were left blinking at our screens, mouths agape in complete disbelief, cursing showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff over this sudden change that should not have taken place.

This awful twist was abrupt and made no sense. One minute, Dany's all about liberating the oppressed, and the next, she's torching the King's Landing, sparing no one, not even women or children. It's like Benioff and Weiss decided to play a game of Character Development Jenga: pull out the bottom pieces and watch everything topple. Sure, there were hints of her potential to go too far, but the show's sprint to the finish line turned her incredible journey into a mad dash towards madness. We fans felt cheated. It wasn't just a plot twist; it was a plot gymnastics routine that didn't stick the landing, leaving us viewers to wonder if Daenerys accidentally burned up all the sensible plot lines along with King's Landing. Make it make sense, precious.
