1) Bran Stark Becomes King

Bran Stark becoming king was the biggest screw you possible towards fans. It wasn't just unexpected, it was also pretty awkward for everyone involved. Throughout the show, Bran was more of a mystical side character, someone who dived into visions and hung out with trees rather than playing the cutthroat game of thrones. He told us in his own words that he'd never want the Iron Throne, only for him to ask, "Why do you think I came all this way?" when Tyrion nominated him to be king, said with the most punchable face. His sudden leap from Westeros' most enigmatic birdwatcher to Ruler of the Seven Kingdoms felt incredibly forced, a last-minute decision to end the series as quickly as possible. Fans were left scratching their heads, wondering how someone who spent most of his screentime perfecting the art of staring into the distance and speaking in riddles ended up in this position of authority.

This plot twist seemed to come out of the left field, somewhat intriguing but wildly out of place. Bran's journey, while fascinating, had little to do with the intricate political intrigue and backstabbing that defined much of the series. So when he was crowned, it felt less like a well-deserved victory and more like the writers picked a name out of a hat. It didn't help that Bran's leadership style was as enigmatic as his personality. We expected a leader to emerge who had been through the thick of Westerosi politics, not someone whose biggest claim to fame was a really long, uncomfortable eye-contact session with the Night King. It was as if the show writers said, "Forget everything you've learned about politics; here's King Bran because... well, why not?" I don't think I'll ever forgive Benioff and Weiss for taking this shortcut.

While Game of Thrones remains a landmark in television history, these twists serve as reminders that even the most beloved series can falter. The show's ending, particularly, continues to be a topic of heated debate, showing just how challenging it is to conclude a narrative that spanned years and captivated millions worldwide.
