The second season of House of the Dragon is airing now on HBO, and the premiere was...decent. Maybe not utterly fantastic, but decent. There's a sense that the Blood and Cheese incident, a key turning point in the sectarian war known as the Dance of the Dragons, didn't hit as hard as it should have. But based on the trailer for the rest of season 2, which played after the end of tonight's episode, the fallout may well be thrilling. Watch below:

We see action in the Red Keep as Aegon rages following the death of his son, in Harrenhal as Daemon and Aemond try to control the Riverlands, and on Dragonstone where Rhaenyra and her supporters fight over the best path forward. And obviously dragons ride high and kill everything.

There are eight episodes total in the second season of House of the Dragon, two less than the 10 we got in season 1. They air Sundays on HBO and stream on Max. Including the premiere, here's the full schedule:

  • Episode 201," A Son for a Son": June 16
  • Episode 202: June 23
  • Episode 203: June 30
  • Episode 204: July 07
  • Episode 205: July 14
  • Episode 206: July 21
  • Episode 207: July 28
  • Episode 208: August 04

The next episode is the longest in the history of the series at one hour and 11 minutes, although we don't have an official title for it yet. We'll be covering all of this extensively here at WinterIsComing.net, so stick around.
