IN 2022, Netflix fulfilled the dream of Neil Gaiman fans everywhere when it adapted his seminal comic book The Sandman for the small screen. How do you take an esoteric story about an eternal being undergoing an existential crisis as he continues his job as the lord of dreams and turn it into a digestible drama? For years, Hollywood was flummoxed. But Netflix finally pulled it off, and there are more episodes in the works.

We've already met four members of the Endless, the strange family at the center of our story. Tom Sturridge is Dream, aka the Sandman, aka immortal emo Hot Topic sad boy myth daddy. Kirby Howell-Baptiste is his affable older sister Death, who also appeared in the show Dead Boy Detectives, which is set in the same universe. Despair, played by Donna Preston, also turned up. And finally we met Despair's twin Desire, played by Mason Alexander Park.

But fans of the comic know that Dream has three other siblings. Today, Netflix has revealed who will be playing Delirium, Destiny and Destruction.

Esmé Creed-Miles is Delirium

One of the most popular of the Endless siblings, Delirium is strange, flighty and fun. She's the youngest of the Endless and seems like it; even though she's been around for billions of years, she seems like a kid at times. The other Endless try and look out for her, and she has great chemistry with the always-dour Dream.

Esmé Creed-Miles is a 24-year-old English actor who's already had leading roles in shows like Hanna and The Doll Factory. One look at her and I can easily imagine her playing the loopy Delirium.

Adrian Lester is Destiny

Destiny is the oldest of the Endless siblings as well as the most serious and most mysterious. We know relatively little about him, in part because he doesn't share much. He wears a hooded cloak and forever walks the maze-like garden that is his realm, aware of (almost) everything that has been and will be.

Adrian Lester is an experienced actor of the stage and screen. He's even won a Laurence Olivier Award, so you know he can bring down the serious Shakespearean drama hammer.

Barry Sloane is Destruction, aka the Prodigal

We've actually known that the 42-year-old English actor Barry Sloane was going to play Destruction for awhile. Sloane has appeared in the soap opera Hollyoaks and the military drama Six, but he’s best known for voicing Captain Price in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series of video games.

At 6'2", Sloane has the right look for Destruction, who in his early days is a big, boisterous, Viking-like figure who kind of recalls Thor from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But he goes on a transformative journey which leaves him very changed. Without spoiling things, he hasn't seen his family in a long while. We'll find out why whenever The Sandman season 2 drops on Netflix.

We don't know when that is, by the way, but I'm happy to see that Netflix is ramping up the promotion. I'd guess we'll be watching new episodes sometime in 2025. Assuming the show keeps following the comics, we'll get a scene with the whole of the Endless family assembled (minus Destruction) pretty early on.
