There could be more than one Harry Potter TV show headed our way!

Reports are indicating that there isn't just one series in the pipeline...

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts

Harry Potter fans just might have a reason to celebrate in a big way. We were told last year that Warner Bros. Discovery was green-lighting a new Harry Potter TV show, with each season based on one of the seven books in author J.K. Rowling's series. I feel that announcement came entirely too early because we haven't had any updates since then, but they seem to be trickling in now.

According to a report by Deadline, there seems to be some chatter surrounding the possibility of multiple Harry Potter shows. Yes, multiple shows. I don't know about anyone else, but as a Potterhead, this is music to my ears. This should absolutely happen.. They can do so much more with the Wizarding World, and I'm really hoping there is truth behind this report.

So, what exactly did this report say? More on that below!

Will there be more than one Harry Potter show?

According to the Deadline report, “Max is open to the possibility of developing more than one idea based on Harry Potter.” There are writers currently working on pitches. If they want any help, I've got plenty of ideas. You know, like a show about the four founders of Hogwarts, or one about the Deathly Hallows. Or basically anything because this world is vast, incredible, and full of so many stories that the world deserves to see!

Writers Martha Hillier, Kathleen Jordan, Tom Moran, and Michael Lesslie are coming up with ideas for which direction to take. Things are still in the early stages, so hang tight, Potterheads.

I think the plan will be to get the original show up and running, and from there evaluate what sparks the public's interest in terms of storylines and characters. Bear in mind, this new show is going to introduce the story of Harry Potter to a whole new generation that may have never watched the movies or read the books. This could be a huge stepping stool for where the potential spin-offs could go, so let's hope for the best!
