UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett calls Game of Thrones showrunners "arseholes" and "bellends"

Even all these years later, people are still upset at Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss over that ending.

Game of Thrones ended more four years ago now, but the way it ended upset so many people so much that it still gets talked about. Take English UFC Paddy Pimblett, who was asked about his favorite movies and shows in a recent interview. Game of Thrones came up, and he did not hold back:

"Game of Thrones is the best series ever made up until, like, season 6, and then them two aresholes who made it absolutely ruined it to go and make Star Wars. What is it, D and D? Pair of bellends."

Let's decode some of that: "D and D" refers to the two showrunners behind Game of Thrones, David Benioff and Dan Weiss. The bit about Star Wars refers to them having signed on with Disney around the time Game of Thrones was ending to produce a new trilogy of Star Wars films, a trilogy that eventually got canceled. The notion that they rushed through the end of Game of Thrones to get to work on Star Wars is conjecture; there's no real proof of that.

Mainly, I like this interview because it provides a primer on British vulgarity. "Arseholes" is an insult you can probably figure out yourself. "Bellend," so far as I can tell, is the word for the bulbous tip of the penis; in the U.K., it's also what you call a guy who's being a jerk. You learn something new every day.

Next. GRRM. George R.R. Martin doesn't see the TV versions of Game of Thrones characters when he writes The Winds of Winter. dark
