On February 22, Netflix will drop the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender, its live-action remake of the beloved animated Nickelodeon show. Fans will once again watch Aang and his friends set out on a quest to save the world from the tyrannical Fire Nation, this time played by real-life actors.

Fans are excited and trepadacious in equal measure for this show. Will it mark a thrilling rebirth for the franchise or will it be a disaster like M. Night Shyamalan 2010 live-action movie version? Take a look at a key scene and find out. Over on Reddit, someone posted a preview of the scene from the first episode where Southern Water Tribe siblings Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Katara (Kiawentiio Tarbell) find Aang (Gordon Cormier) frozen in an iceberg. He's been there for the past 100 years, and it's finally time for him to wake up. You can watch the scene here.

Aang is the Avatar, the only person in this world capable of controlling all four elements: earth, water, air and fire. We also see Prince Zuko (Dallas James Liu), who is determined to find and arrest the Avatar, see from a distance what's happening. A clash is imminent.

I think the clip looks pretty good. There's plenty of gravity to Aang's emergence from the iceberg, but also a lighter moment at the end when he slides down the ice ramp. The original Avatar always mixed moments of gravity and levity and I hope the remake does the same. We'll see whether it's successful tomorrow.
