Last night, the stars of TV and film gathered for the 81st Golden Globes, and little golden statues were flying left and right. On the TV side of things, Succession was the big winner of the night, taking home the award for Best Drama as well as several awards for its cast members. Sarah Snook won for Best Actress and Kieran Culkin for Best Actor.
Those rewards are richly deserved, but it does mean that fan favorites Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey lost out on Golden Globes in those categories; they were nominated for their performances as Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us, another HBO show. This was the last (and best) season of Succession, so it made sense that the Golden Globes would want to reward it now. This was the first season of The Last of Us, so it will have other chances.
That said, there were some fun moments between Ramsey and Pascal to be had. Look how loud Ramsey cheers when Pascal's name is called in the Best Actor category:
Both Ramsey and Pascal will return in The Last of Us season 2, which will adapt the second video game in Naughty Dog's series. That game gets extremely intense, so get ready. We'll probably be watching season 2 sometime in 2025.
