Watch Bella Ramsey (Ellie) get in shape for The Last of Us season 2!

In 2016, Game of Thrones fans were introduced to Lyanna Mormont, the fierce lady of Bear Island. She was played by Bella Ramsey, who wasn't even a teenager at the time those episodes were filmed. But Ramsey jumped off the screen with her passion and charisma. Clearly, this was an actor who could go as far as they wanted.

Seven years later, and they've gone very far indeed, Ramsey broke out in a huge way as lead character Ellie on HBO's zombie drama The Last of Us, where they starred opposite Pedro Pascal as Joel. Ramsey was nominated for both a Golden Globe and an Emmy for their work. And this is just the beginning; the producers see The Last of Us lasting for at least three seasons, so Ramsey has a long road to walk.

Speaking to Pink News, Ramsey said that they “can’t wait," to start filming season 2, which will happen soon; cameras are scheduled to start rolling in February. Right on cue, Ramsey dropped a video on their Instagram Stories showing off their work in the gym, getting ripped for the adventures ahead:

If you've played The Last of Us video games by Naughty Dog, you know that Ellie has a lot of intensely physical challenges ahead of her. The second season will be based on The Last of Us Part II, where Ellie will move into a more prominent role. Without spoiling much, she goes on another cross-country adventure. There will be zombies, there will be raiders, and there will a very angry woman named Abby we just learned will be played by Kaitlyn Dever.

We won't give away too much about Abby's role in the story, but it suffices to say that she and Ellie will be at odds. This is what Abby looks like in the game:

Abby's impressive physique is one of the most recognizable parts of her character. Laura Baily, who voiced Abby in The Last of Us Part II, brought it up when congratulating Dever on securing the role:

"Let me know if you want a workout buddy." My god, everyone in The Last of Us season 2 is going to have muscles out to HERE. We'll see the fruits of their labors when new episodes start dropping on HBO and Max, probably sometime in 2025.
