When does The Boys season 4 come out?

For three seasons now, The Boys has been a gleefully profane sendup of the superhero genre. In this world, superheroes are selfish glory hounds at best and psychopathic murderers at worst, and the heroes are trying to take them down.

The Boys has been a hit for Amazon Prime Video, so obviously a fourth season is on the way. But when will we get to see it? A trailer released in December promised only that season 4 is "coming soon"...

Okay, so maybe the producers behind the show aren't quite ready to commit to a premiere date yet. But the weird thing about The Boys season 4 in particular is that we had prominent cast members like Antony Starr (Homelander) saying they were done filming as early as April of 2023, nearly a year ago. If the season was already wrapping up by that point, you'd figure it'd be far enough along in post-production for Amazon to give us a firm release date.

And maybe that release date is right around the corner. Alternately, production on season 4 could have been slowed down by the actors and writers strikes, which endured for much of the middle of 2023. I have a feeling that, if it weren't for those strikes, we'd already when The Boys season 4 was coming out, if we weren't watching it already. But at least we know it's coming in 2024, exact date pending.
