WiC Weekly: August 25 - 31, 2024
By Dan Selcke
It's another big week in the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, movies, TV and books. We're running through all of it in another installment of WiC Weekly, where we go over the biggest stories to hit the website in the past seven days.
We've got to start with The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which returned for its second season this week. The first three episodes were dropped all at once on Thursday. Our impressions:
A Song of Ice and Fire author George has been talking a lot about his opinions lately, and we're lapping it up. Obviously, we have to mention his latest update, such as it is, on The Winds of Winter:
Sticking with Martin, how does he feel about the changes made to his book Fire & Blood in the second season of House of the Dragon. Or rather, how does he hint about how he feels?
The Jurassic Park/World franchise has been taking a break for all of two years. It's time to bring it back!
The second half of the seventh season of Outlander hasn't aired yet, but fans are already looking forward to the eighth and final season. What of the hair?
Whether this is a funny or frustrating Game of Thrones story is up to you:
Circling back to The Rings of Power, you may notice that the character of Adar was recast. What gives?
There's a new Brandon Sanderson book on the way! Check out the cover of Wind and Truth:
There's a great AMC that just became available on Netflix: Dark Winds.
Finally, George R.R. Martin promising to reveal "everything that’s gone wrong with House of the Dragon," which...well, that sounds ominous.
The news, reviews, and views you can use will keep coming. Stick around WiC all week for more!
