Will there be a new House of the Dragon trailer at the Super Bowl? (Probably not)
The second season of House of the Dragon will air on HBO and Max this summer, continuing the story of the dysfunctional Targaryen family and their magnificent flying weapons. HBO has already dropped a teaser for the new season, and it looks pretty spectacular:
But what about a proper, full-length trailer? We still haven't gotten one. Might Warner Bros. Discovery, the company that owns HBO, drop a trailer at the Super Bowl this upcoming Sunday?
Probably not. According to Variety, Warner Bros. is "not expected to run any trailers" during the big game. According to Deadline, this is common practice for the studio, which usually sits out the Super Bowl. Last year, they did run an ad for The Flash movie, but that was the exception, not the rule. And considering that The Flash performed pretty poorly at the box office, they're not likely looking to make another one.
Both Deadline and Variety are talking mostly about movies here, but I still wouldn't expect anything new from the House of the Dragon team on Sunday. Then again, Variety cautions that "plans could always change before the main matchup," so if you want to keep hoping, there's your path.
Mostly likely, we'll see a full trailer a bit closer to the release date, which is scheduled to be sometime this summer. We don't have an official date yet, but we should be seeing dragons battle in the sky come August at the latest.
