Zendaya breaks the internet with daring, already iconic robot suit at Dune: Part Two premiere

The Dune: Part Two cast looked incredible at the London premiere this week, but Zendaya was a standout with her Thierry Mugler robot suit.

We're just weeks away now from the highly anticipated release of Dune: Part Two, and as fans are getting excited over the rave reviews director Denis Villeneuve is receiving (one critic even called the movie "the definitive sci-fi epic of a generation"), we're also all fangirling over the cast stepping out at the London premiere on Thursday, February 15. Particularly, Zendaya, who plays Chani in the film, wearing something I've never seen on the red carpet before.

Truly channeling the sci-fi genre, Zendaya went vintage couture with her already iconic look, a Thierry Mugler robot suit from the fall/winter 1995 couture collection, which only she could pull off. According to W Magazine, the outfit is called the “Machinenmensch,” meaning "Machine Human," and was designed through a collaboration between Mugler and artist Jean-Jacques Urcun. The duo is said to have taken inspiration from the book Metropolis, which was adapted into the now-classic 1927 movie directed by Fritz Lang. Not only is Zendaya paying homage to the genre with her look, but also film history.

Jaw-dropping! I literally let out a gasp when I saw photos of Zendaya in this look flood my Twitter feed. And, unsurprisingly, I'm not the only one who had such a strong opinion about seeing the two-time Emmy Award winner in such an amazing outfit. She's driving the internet wild with reactions, with the general consensus being she's an absolute goddess and fashion icon. One hilarious tweet among the many reads: "Zendaya is like the reverse sisterhood of the [traveling] pants where every single piece of clothing ever made only fits her." I mean, that's not wrong.

With every red carpet event and interview, we're reminded just how beautiful Zendaya is — inside and out. And she's not the only Dune: Part Two cast member who showed up looking breathtaking at the London premiere this week. The women really made statements with their outfits, such as Florence Pugh, Lea Seydoux, Rebecca Ferguson, and Anya Taylor-Joy, the latter of whom confirmed a surprise casting in the movie at the event. I'm sure the spoiler of who Taylor-Joy is playing in the sequel can be found online, but I won't be looking!

Our Paul Atreides, Timothée Chalamet, also looked great, though admittedly very dressed down compared to Zendaya, wearing an oversized black t-shirt with accents around the collar and cool silver pants. Villeneuve and Josh Brolin went simple with dark suits and Austin Butler rocked a billowy black duster jacket, black pants, and white v-neck.

The cast of Dune: Part Two is seriously impressive, and seeing them all together like this has me so excited to see the movie. This is how you show up to a premiere and make a statement, hyping up fans for what's to come. Honestly, even if the movie was bad (which I highly doubt) I'd still be happy enough with the electric promo tour we've gotten from these guys.

Oh, and if you were also wondering how Zendaya could manage to pee in the robot suit, she actually changed soon after into something more comfortable (but still incredibly beautiful):

The cast and crew of Dune: Part Two are riding high right now, and there are exactly two weeks until all of America can enjoy the fruits of their labor. If the early reactions are any indication, it'll be an epic viewing experience.
