MGM+ is about to unleash the latest take on a literary legend, and the first teaser shows it’s already looking good.

Of course, we're talking about Robin Hood. There’s something about this legend that remains timeless. People around the world have come to love the tale of the outlaw stealing from the rich and giving it to the poor, an ace archer, and a romantic. There have been so many different versions of Robin Hood across movies and television, over the years, but that doesn't make us less excited for this new series.

MGM+ has unveiled a new take that’s said to “reimagine” the legend. It comes from showrunner and producer John Glenn, with Jonathan English and Todd Lieberman as co-producers. The 10-episode series will have a two-episode premiere on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 9/8c. They also unveiled a teaser that showcases the newer take on the saga:

The synopsis reads:

Robin Hood will bring a modern energy to the classic tale of the roguish outlaw hero who stole from the rich and gave to the poor and follow the epic love story between him and a courageous and daring Marian. It is a smart, sweeping, romantic adventure that brings historical authenticity, psychological depth and a heightened focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian to the beloved story. Following the Norman invasion of England, Rob, a Saxon forester’s son, and Marian, the daughter of a Norman lord, fall in love and work together to fight for justice and freedom. As Rob rises as the leader of a band of rebel outlaws, Marian infiltrates the power at court, as both work together to thwart royal corruption and bring peace to the land.”

See the Sheriff and Robin clash in the new teaser

The teaser carries the voiceover of Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham, stating, “We conquered your lands…and in a hundred years all that is Saxon will be gone. No one will ever know you and your kind ever existed.”

That’s followed by Robin (Jack Patten) in action, walking amid flames as he declares, “We will teach those who tread on us…nothing will keep us from vengeance.” He fires an arrow right at the Sheriff, although it’s not sure if it’s meant to kill him or not.

There are also glimpses of Lauren McQueen as Marian, Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon, and Connie Nielsen as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Not seen yet are any of the Merry Men, as the cast also includes Graeme Thomas King, Tom Mison, Anastasia Griffith, Matija Gredić, Mihailo Lazić, Boban Marjanović, and Jelena Gavrilović. King plays Prince John, Mison and Griffith are Robin’s parents, and Gavrilović is Godda, a mythical Celtic goddess, hinting that this version of the story has more supernatural elements.

The series already looks fun, with a historical adventure following one of the greatest literary heroes of all time. The presence of Bean as the villain should also make it watchable, especially for Game of Thrones fans.

Robin Hood premieres on November 2 on MGM+.
