See the first pic of House of the Dragon vet Milly Alcock on the set of Supergirl!

Sure, it's just the back of Alcock's head sitting in a folding chair with the Superman 'S' insignia on it, but we'll take what we can get.

From Jason Momoa to Pedro Pascal, Game of Thrones was a show known for giving actors their big breaks. The prequel series House of the Dragon may do the same thing, as season 1 veteran Milly Alcock (she played the younger version of Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first five episodes) has been cast as Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, and will appear in multiple movies in James Gunn's new DC Cinematic Universe! Today, Gunn revealed the first image of Alcock on the set of her very own solo movie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

Okay, yes, that's just the back of Alcock's head. Honestly, they could have put someone else entirely in that chair and just told us it was Milly. But whatever, we'll take it. Her hair has a multicolored shiny effect thing going on. There's a Superman 'S' insignia on the back of her chair. She isn't just wearing a hoodie, it's a super-hoodie.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow was a well-received comic by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Briefly, it's about a young alien girl named Ruthye who enlists Supergirl's help in getting revenge on the man who killed her father, known as Krem of the Yellow Hills. In the movie, Ruthye will be played by Eve Ridley and Krem by Matthias Schoenaerts. David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham will play Supergirl's parents. Also, Jason Momoa will appear as space bounty hunter Lobo, so he and Alcock can commiserate over what good career moves they made by visiting Westeros.

Woman of Tomorrow was lauded for its nuanced examination of trauma, killing, and emotional resiliance. I'm not a comics expert, but it feels like this one was pretty literary, so far as comics go. That feels like a solid foundation for the movie, which is written by Ana Nogueira and directed by Craig Gillespie.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is due out in theaters on June 26, 2026. Much closer in time, Alcock will appear briefly as Supergirl in the upcoming movie Superman, which is out on July 11 of this year. And who knows? Maybe Alcock will once again return as Young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the third season of House of the Dragon, which will premiere on HBO and Max sometime in 2026. Her character is now played by Emma D'Arcy, but Alcock still popped up in a couple of dream sequences in the second season.
