Since the release of the official The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer, audiences have been curious about Sigourney Weaver's character. Thankfully, we got a little bit more information from the legendary science fiction actress herself at New York Comic Con. In The Mandalorian and Grogu, Weaver will ply a member of the Rebel Alliance.
During the "Alien and Beyond" panel from the convention earlier this month, we learned several things of note. Firstly, according to People, her character is "Colonel Ward, a leader of the New Republic's Adelphi Rangers and a former pilot for the Rebel Alliance."
Second, it seems we won't be seeing much of Weaver's Ward, as she said, "I was only on the set for a few days, but I was surrounded by all kinds of different creatures." She details the experience of getting a drink with a unique-looking character; you know, the usual for the continually expanding world of Star Wars.

What may not come as a surprise to fans is that she got to work with Pedro Pascal and Grogu, and enjoyed the experience. Pascal's role as Mandalorian Din Djarin catapulted his already thriving career, thanks to his previous roles in Game of Thrones and Narcos.
Third, Weaver revealed that the film will take place where the third season of The Mandalorian left off. As we recall, season 3 ended with the defeat of Moff Gideon and his clones, a new beginning for Mandalore, Din Djarin officially adopting Grogu, and finding a new, more permanent home on Nevarro.
Weaver watched and loved The Mandalorian per show creator Jon Favreau's suggestion. Weaver commented, "Also I love how the Star Wars universe has — it's not trying to pay off each movie with the whole backlog of movies. It's now individual stories set in the same universe."

Weaver's exciting role aside, The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer, now at 9.5 million views, unveiled the action and antics our heroes will find themselves in. From defeating Stormtroopers in an AT-AT, to a high-flying adventure in a new Razor Crest to Grogu's underwater mission and endless hunger for snacks, this duo will surely be dominating theaters for months to come.
