The third season of Silo is nearly at its end, and there's a looming feeling that Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) and the rest of the residents of Silo 18 have passed a point of no return. That holds true for the past as well, where Daniel Keene (Ashley Zukerman) and his pregnant wife, Helen (Jessica Henwick), were forced into separate silos as a bomb dropped nearby. Whatever happens next, there's no going back to the way things were.

And just what will happen next? If you've been obsessing over Silo like we have, that's probably a pretty big question you have as the season finale draws closer. Before we say goodbye to Silo's third season, let's make sure we have all the information needed to dive straight into season 3 episode 10 — including some ominous hints about what's in store.

Silo season 3 episode 10 release time

Release times are nebulous at best in the streaming era, but that's especially true for Apple TV, a streamer which tends to chart its own course with release times. New episodes of Silo technically drop at 12:00 p.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET on Fridays. But Apple often likes to surprise its subscribers with early releases, so it's worth keeping an eye on your Apple TV app starting at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT on Thursday.

Any early release shenanigans notwithstanding, Silo season 3 episode 10 will officially drop by 12:00 p.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET on Friday, September 4.

Silo season 3 episode 10 synopsis & preview

Apple is being unusually vague with the season 3 finale of Silo, which is probably the right call considering the massive cliffhangers that ended the penultimate episode. Titled, "Troy," the official synopsis simply reads: "A leader wakes to a new world." We'll get into what that means below when we break down what to expect.

Apple also doesn't typically do episodic trailers, so there's no official teaser for the season finale. Instead, we got a brief sneak peek courtesy of Seat42f, which you can watch above. In it, we see Juliette and Robert Sims (Common) at their wits' end, discussing how to get through to Sims' wife Camille (Alexandria Riley) after how much harsher she's become thanks to the Algorithm's influence. Camille has had a darker arc than many viewers expected this season, and here at the finale, we'll probably find out whether there's any hope for redemption, or she's too far gone.

What to expect in the Silo season 3 finale

The interesting thing about the images above is that all of them are in Silo 18's present-day storyline. Apple is keeping whatever it's going to show for Daniel and the past story close to the chest, and for good reason.

Obviously, we can tell from the images and preview scene that we're going to be spending a lot of time in Silo 18, no doubt dealing with the fallout of Bernard's death as Camille Sims tries to keep things orderly enough to prevent the Algorithm from ordering the Safeguard and killing everyone in the silo.

But that won't be all we see. The title of this episode is telling, and to discuss it we need to get into MAJOR SPOILERS from the second Silo book, Shift. The Silo season 3 finale is probably going to be one of the most mind-bending episodes of the entire series, and the book speculation below may spoil one of its biggest twists, so consider yourself warned before you continue.

What will happen to Daniel and Helen in the Silo season 3 finale?

"Troy" may seem like a reference to the Trojan War, and perhaps it is on some level, but there's a more specific meaning relevant to the Silo book series by Hugh Howey. Shift explores the past scenes we saw this season, but it also takes place in Silo 1, where a man named Troy is gradually recovering his memories. The book eventually reveals that "Troy" is actually Donald Keene (renamed Daniel in the show), the Congressman engineer who helped design the silos. That reveal is going to hit very differently in the show, since we'll see Ashley Zukerman's face whenever he wakes up in Silo 1.

Without ruining every single aspect of Daniel's storyline, Shift explores how Silo 1 operates, utilizing cryogenic freezing to keep its VIP occupants alive over the course of centuries. Given the episode title, I'd imagine we're going to see that play out somewhat in the finale. I don't know that we'll see things go so far as, say, Daniel making contact with Silo 18, but I certainly wouldn't rule it out. He and Juliette making contact is a crucial turning point in the book series that begins its endgame, and whether that happens in the season 3 finale or early in season 4, the stage is going to be set for it soon. Either way, I expect the episode will spend some time dealing with the fallout of Daniel's separation from Helen as well.

Hopefully, we will not only end Silo season 3 with more questions about what's to come, but some answers, too. We'll find out in a few short days, when the Silo season 3 finale premieres on Apple TV.
