David Harbour, who plays Hopper on Netflix's Stranger Things, got married to singer Lily Allen in 2020. They did it in Las Vegas; the ceremony was officiated by an Elvis impersonator. Allen's children with her ex-husband Sam Cooper, Marnie Rose and Ethel Mary, were in attendance.

Now, PEOPLE reports that the couple have split up. "Her marriage has been crumbling," an insider told them, "and they have split." As usual, I remain mystified by the idea of an "inside source" who's close enough to Lily Allen to know what's happening in her personal life but not so close that they won't go to the tabloids to talk about it, but that's beside the point.

Rumors of things becoming strained between Harbour and Allen have been in the air for a while now. The story was that she discovered that he was maintaining a profile on Raya, a dating app designed for celebrities; that's how the two met in the first place. Between that and Lily Allen talking on podcasts about her being in a difficult place mentally, and people were getting the idea that all was not right between her and David Harbour. The PEOPLE news, such as it is, is another signpost.

That said, neither Allen nor Harbour have said anything official, and until they do, we pretty have a rumor based on the whisperings of these inside sources. I don't know why I can't get over that idea. Imagine you're breaking up with your significant other. You talk to your friend about it, and then that friend goes and tells their person at PEOPLE what you talked about. Is that person still your friend? Weird.

ANYway, David Harbour will star later this year in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, which is sure to be a huge deal. Nothing like a celebrity scandal to go along with a big holiday hit show.
