It's been quite a journey, but with the sixth episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, we've at last arrived at the end of the show's first season. HBO's newest Game of Thrones spinoff has had an excellent run so far, brilliantly adapting George R.R. Martin's novella "The Hedge Knight" while simultaneously breathing new life into this decades-old story of a humble knight and his mouthy squire.
As we do every week, we're breaking down the episode on our Take the Black podcast, where co-host Marq Nettles and I go through all the highlights of the episode, hash out how it compares to the book, and discuss the highs and lows of this attempt to bring it to the screen. It's been a big week in Westeros even outside of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. HBO also unveiled the first teaser trailer for House of the Dragon season 3, and obviously, we couldn't let this moment pass without talking about that as well. The show has an uphill battle to win back widespread support from the fandom after its underwhelming season 2 finale, but from the looks of this trailer the new season is going to hit the ground running with a major naval battle, new dragons, and Rhaenyra Targaryen finally nearing her goal of claiming the Iron Throne. And all that's not even getting into the freshly announced Game of Thrones stage play that also got a major update this week. Exciting times in the Seven Kingdoms!
