Every Wednesday, we get together on a live stream to take about the latest and greatest news from the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, movies, TV and books. And every Wednesday, we deliver opinions and insights so searing that to look at them head-on is to risk blindness...you should still watch, though. Leave a live comment, we respond!
Anyway, this week was all about epic fantasy. Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin shared his thoughts on HBO's new prequel series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms...which he loved! That means something when he's been willing to openly criticize HBO's other Game of Thrones prequel show, House of the Dragon.
Meanwhile, we're coming up on the premiere of the third season of The Wheel of Time, which will hopefully keep up the momentum generated by the second season and deliver a batch of episodes we can all celebrate! And in more dour news, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power could be in danger after a disappointing new viewership report. If this show goes down, will it take other shows with it?
We talk about all this and more in the newest episode of Take the Black! Watch below:
We also have new installments of our recurring segments — 'What Are We Watching' and the 'WiC News Lightning Round' — for you to enjoy. Daniel is here with book recommendations and somehow I find time to take a few shots at the biopic A Complete Unknown; sure, it has nothing to do with sci-fi or fantasy but I have things to say!
The Take the Black Podcast is Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube Music! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.
We stream new episodes of Take the Black live every Wednesday on our YouTube and Facebook pages. With so many big shows and movies coming out this year, things are sure to be lively. Join us, won't you?
