Between The Last of Us, Star Wars: Andor, Black Mirror, Doctor Who, and more, there are a crazy number of great sci-fi/fantasy shows coming next month.

It's time for another episode of Take the Black, where we go over the latest news from the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, movies, TV and books. And boy, is there a lot to discuss this week. First up, the third season of House of the Dragon is going to begin filming any day, and we have the on-set photos to prove it. Beyond that, there is an avalanche of new genre TV coming our way in April. We sort through it so can you make sense of this bumper crop:

For real, there is way too much good TV on the way. Here's a quick rundown:

  • Devil May Cry (April 3)
  • The Handmaid’s Tale (April 8)
  • Black Mirror (April 10)
  • Doctor Who (April 12)
  • The Last of Us (April 13)
  • Star Wars: Andor (April 22)

Which ones are worth watching? Any to skip? Did all the streaming services get together and conspire to overload us? We talk about it all.

And beyond that, we have to spare some chatter for "The Road to the Spear," last week's episode of The Wheel of Time. Is it the best episode so far? Almost definitely. We also get into a debate about the merits of the second season of Severance, which also ended on a series high...at least if you ask one of us. And we also find time at the end of the show to discuss the truckload full of actors joining the next Avengers movie.
