It's official...well, it's kind of official: HBO is developing a Game of Thrones movie. Is it a prequel? A sequel? Is it going to happen at all? We don't know the answers to any of those questions for sure, but now that the report is out there, we're gonna talk about it. What do we want out of a Game of Thrones movie? What don't we want? What characters or historical events from author George R.R. Martin's invented history should be featured? We talk about it all on a new episode of Take the Black, our weekly podcast. Watch below!

It's important to add the disclaimer that news of the Game of Thrones movie leaked out to us; this isn't an official announcement. But I'm not entirely surprised to hear it, because HBO — once a bastion for original, trend-setting TV — has been diving into the world of big IP lately, probably at the behest of parent company Warner Bros. Discovery. Most of their recent big shows have been based on existing brands, whether it's House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, or The Penguin, not to mention upcoming series like Dune: Prophecy. Is this a good thing? A bad thing? TBD? At the moment, HBO has done a good job of giving its trademark coat of polish to ideas they themselves didn't come up with, but will here come a time when push must come to shove?

We talk about all of that and more! What are we watching, reading and playing? More than we thought we did at the beginning of the episode. And of course, we run through the WiC News Lightning Round, where we blast through a number of stories we couldn't get through in the main body of the show and give our 20-second takes on them, lest we et buzzed.
