Despite ending the main series in 2022, AMC continues to churn out lots of Walking Dead content. And the result has actually been pretty good. Of course, we had The Ones Who Live in 2024, which continued the saga of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). Just recently, we wrapped up the second season of Dead City, which follows unlikely duo Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) as they explore a zombie-infested Manhattan. Franchise boss Scott M. Gimple has hinted numerous times that the wider universe could continue to expand into the foreseeable future.
Perhaps the most impressive spinoff is Daryl Dixon. Focusing on Norman Reedus' beloved character, the series shows a side of The Walking Dead Universe that fans have never seen before. From all-new European cultures and landscapes to different zombie variants, the series offers a fresh new perspective on the post-apocalyptic world. The upcoming third season will take Daryl and Carol across the channel from France to England, where they'll meet a new survivor played by British comedian Stephen Merchant, and then onto Spain, where the bulk of the season takes place.
Following the season 2 finale of The Walking Dead: Dead City, AMC debuted an all-new trailer for Daryl Dixon season 3. Check it out:
Kudos for the unexpected cover of Beethoven's "Für Elise" played on Spanish guitar.
AMC also revealed that the season premieres on September 7 at 9:00 p.m. EST on AMC and AMC+. Alongside Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, and Stephen Merchant, the season features a large cast that includes Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Candela Saitta, Hugo Arbués, Greta Fernández, Gonzalo Bouza, Hada Nieto, Yassmine Othman, Cuco Usín, and Alexandra Masangkay.
