The Witcher may have already filmed its fifth and final season, but we're still learning details about what's in store. The latest news is that the production added a score of actors to the cast for season 5. Who are they and who do they play?
The Witcher season 4 was a wild affair with the big turn of Liam Hemsworth stepping into the role of Geralt following the departure of Henry Cavill. Despite some lower viewing numbers than previous seasons, the season still did well, pushing forward the adventures of the characters and setting up a climactic fifth and final season for the epic saga.
Per Redanian Intelligence, the show has added several new actors for that final season, four of whom are tied to Ciri’s storyline. Season 4 ended with bounty hunter Leo Bonhart (Sharlto Copley) brutally killing the Rats, the gang of thieves Ciri (Freya Allen) had fallen in with, and taking Ciri prisoner. However, rather than keep his promise to deliver Ciri to Stefan Skellen, Bonhart is going to bring Ciri to his cousin, the crime boss Dominik Houvenaghel.
Season 5 is expected to adapt the last three books of Andrzej Sapkowski’s initial seven-book cycle, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of Swallows, and Lady of the Lake. That will lead to a bigger storyline for the heroine that brings in some new cast members!

Who’s joining The Witcher season 5?
According to RI, season 5 has Houvenaghel putting Ciri to work in his fighting pits. The site speculates that Neil Stuke will play Houvenaghel. The actor is known for scores of British TV series from Silk to Game On to Doctor Who, and is an intriguing choice for the role.
If the season follows the books, Ciri will escape from Houvenaghel, only to be pursued by the Nilfgaardian spy master Skellen (played by James Purefoy). Skellen will form his own gang to hunt Ciri, which will include series newcomers Sam Pamphilon as Cyprian Fripp and Yinka Awoni as Zadarlik. They may be joined by Rispat la Pointe (Andrew French), who was a member of this squad in the books and already appeared in season 4.
Also coming on board is Georgia Goodman as Madam Toulouse, a brothel madam of Beauclair in Toussaint, where Geralt and his gang will visit. Another new casting revealed is the fisherman Gosta (Nick Chadwin), whose advice to Ciri may lead to the famed ice skating sequence that's a highlight of the book saga.
Rounding out the new arrivals are Fergus Rattigan as Paddy the Dwarf and Clive Kneller as High Priest. These are not characters from the books, so we don't know what impact they’ll have on the storylines.
The Witcher season 5 wrapped filming in October 2025, and is expected to release sometime in 2026. The production beefing up its cast proves the series is set for a bolder season 5 to bring this amazing saga to a climax!
The first four seasons of The Witcher are currently streaming on Netflix.
