The third season of The Wheel of Time is barreling towards us, and Prime Video is feeding the fans with a cache of beautiful new character posters. Check them out below:
In order, we have the Amerlyn Seat Siuan Sanche (Sophie Okonedo), Verin Mathwin (Meera Syal), Leane Sharif (Jennifer Cheon Garcia), Nynaeve al'Meara (Zoë Robins), Elayne Trakand (Ceara Coveney), Min Farshaw (Kae Alexander), and Elaida of the Red Ajah, played by The Expanse veteran Shohreh Aghdashloo. Agsdashloo is a new addition to the cast this year, and she's excited to play such an exciting character:
Discovering Elaida piece by piece was fascinating. Slipping into her lavish costumes was exhilarating, and wearing her shoes felt surprisingly comforting...

Who's ready for March 13? 😉#TwitterOfTime pic.twitter.com/QakF3XLKY0
Most of these women are Aes Sedai sorceresses or, in the case of Nynaeve and Elayne, Aes Sedai in training. The odd woman out is Min, who has the power to foresee the future, although it comes to her in strange flashes that are hard to interpret.
"Tomorrow, everything begins to dissolve."
The tagline for these posters is interesting: "Tomorrow, everything begins to dissolve." True to form, in each of the posters, the women are coming apart at the edges. What does it mean?
Well, this next season will adapt The Shadow Rising, the fourth book in Robert's Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Without spoiling anything too badly, in that book, there's a major shake-up in the White Tower of the Aes Sedai, with power changing hands in the most spectacular and dangerous of ways. We'll definitely see that play out in The Wheel of Time season 3.
The posters bring to mind an early part of The Shadow Rising where Min walks through the White Tower and sees strange, foreboding symbols hovering around many of its inhabitants. Perhaps that's what the dissolve effect is hinting at.
In any case, the posters look great, and I love how committed The Wheel of Time producers are to bringing so many of the characters from the books to life. This series has a huge cast, and while the show can't fit in everyone, it's including a ton. These posters don't even feature important characters like Rand, Mat and Perrin, all of whom will be going on their own fascinating journeys. We see a lot more of them in the official trailer.
The Wheel of Time season 3 will premiere on Thursday, March 13, on Prime Video.
