If you blinked, you might have missed Josh Peck adorned in FEDRA gear from head to toe in the newest episode of The Last Us. The fourth episode of season 2 introduces audiences to new characters, including the leader of the Washington Liberation Front (aka the WLF, or Wolves), Isaac, played by Jeffrey Wright. The battle between the Wolves and the ultra-religious Seraphites, or Scars, has reached a violent and horrific state, but where did it all begin? The flashback at the beginning of the episode provides a little insight, which is where Peck of Drake & Josh fame arrives.
Peck plays a mouthy, crass FEDRA soldier who tells a lewd joke to other FEDRA soldiers riding in the back of a vehicle in the Seattle QZ. Isaac just so happens to be the commanding officer of the group. Peck's joke prompts a new recruit to ask if they should be talking that way about "voters." As Isaac explains, "Voters" is what they called the people when they took their right to vote away.
It is here that we learn of Isaac's true intentions. The vehicle comes to a roadblock and QZ citizens approach it. Isaac tosses a gradade into the truck, killing all the soldiers inside, including the one played by Peck. He spares the new FEDRA soldier and makes him an offer to join the WLF, who eventually take over the Seattle QZ. We see the young man briefly during a later where Isaac is brutally torturing a Scar, so we know he said yes.
Truth be told, while I never watched Drake & Josh, Josh Peck has been popping up quite often, and while he is covered in FEDRA gear, he was recognizable immediately. While his appearance was short-lived, The Last of Us is quite a work experience that will look nice on any resume.
