Wednesday might have managed to change the outcome of her premonition to save Enid, but it seems that not only is a member of the Addams family now marked for death, but Enid is not entirely out of the woods yet either.
As episode 7 opens, Wednesday informs Enid of the update to her premonition and wastes no time resuming her hunt for Tyler, Francoise, and Isaac. She begins by speaking with her parents upon discovering that her father, Gomez, was more than just Isaac’s roommate back in the day, but also his closest friend. The conversation doesn’t yield much information, but we do learn after that during her Freaky Friday moment with Enid, Wednesday discovered that her mother, Morticia, is also an author – a passion she’s kept hidden due to Grandmama’s disapproval years ago when she read one of her early stories.
Speaking of Enid, while she may no longer be marked for death at the hands of Wednesday, she’s not out of the woods yet. Professor Capri pays her a visit and drops a major bombshell on her. If a young alpha transformed under a full moon, there is a good chance they’ll remain in their werewolf form forever. As if that fate wasn’t bad enough, she reveals that alphas who permanently transform are hunted down and killed by other werewolves as a form of policing. Her pack is her strength, but Enid is going to have to do everything she can to remain calm and not transform when the full moon arrives.

Principal Dort isn’t who we thought he was
One of the biggest revelations in the penultimate episode of the season is that Principal Dort is not who we thought he was. Yes, we had a feeling he was up to no good this entire season from the moment he began forcing Bianca to use her siren abilities to do his bidding, but we weren’t prepared to find out that Dort and Morning Song are one and the same.
At the top of the episode, we learn that Dort is behind the Morning Song scam-based self-help cult that Bianca’s mother escaped. Gideon was nothing more than a face for the cult with Dort running things from the shadow. The cult found a way to exploit its members’ siren songs to swindle people out of money, and it turns out this cult was started by Dort 15 years ago as he was passing through Texas. The news comes to light when Dort discovers Bianca has been hiding her mother away in one of the wings of Nevermore that was devastated by the fire.
Grandmama goes to see Dort, who tries to sell her on a new expansion that will make Nevermore the destination for future morticians, embalmers, and funeral directors, with the new Frump Tower named after her. She’s not having it, which is when Dort calls upon Bianca to use her siren song to force her into donating her entire fortune to Nevermore.

Wednesday catches on to Dort’s plan
With Thing’s help, Wednesday finds the bunker where Francoise, Isaac, and Tyler have been hiding away. While they’ve left in search of medication to help Francois keep her Hyde at bay, the empty pill bottle and bloody handkerchief help Wednesday piece together that Tyler’s mom is unwell. She also finds a special form of moth that lays its eggs in the corpse of its host, which in this case happens to be Isaac, and can be used to try to track him down.
Back at Nevermore, Grandmama invites Wednesday to stay with her over the summer in an attempt to further drive a wedge between Wednesday and Morticia. This is something Weems warns Morticia about, making it clear that Morticia needs to act in order to repair her strained relationship with Wednesday before it's too late.
Speaking of warnings, Ajax uncovered the news that Gideon has been spotted in the area and Bianca is in trouble. Not only is Gideon in the area, but Bianca’s mom is now missing, and he’s convinced Dort is involved. Upon sharing his news, Wednesday makes it clear she’s on the case.
As if on cue, Wednesday and the Addams family learn that Grandmama has suddenly decided to leave her entire estate to Nevermore, which clearly sends up a flag for Wednesday. She goes to confront Bianca about the secrets she’s been keeping, having pieced together that Dort is clearly blackmailing her into doing his bidding, including using her siren ability to force her Grandmama to leave her entire estate to Nevermore.
After Bianca comes clean about her role and how Dort is forcing her hand, she uses her siren song to make Wednesday forget the conversation and stop asking questions. What she didn’t bank on was Agnes being in the room as part of Wednesday’s plan. While Wednesday indeed forgot the conversation, Agnes was there to hear it all and shared the details with Wednesday to prove her worth.

Wednesday season 2 episode 7 ends with 2 deaths and a kidnapping
Before the ball begins, Dort gets a visit from Gideon, who has come to town to collect his portion of the money Dort has swindled Grandmama out of. Unfortunately for him, Dort has no need for him any longer and he uses his gifts to burn Gideon alive, killing him before Bianca’s shocked eyes. The murder was one of the season’s most unexpected and brutal moments yet, proving that perhaps the Hydes and Isaac aren’t the biggest threat of the season.
With Dort planning on slipping away after the gala, Wednesday and her friends must act fast to bring his reign of terror to an end.
At the gala, Wednesday goes to Bianca and asks her for the location of where Dort is keeping her mother. She then relays this information to Ajax, who frees Bianca’s mom from Dort’s apartment. Meanwhile, Wednesday enlists Enid and Agnes's help in creating a diversion through her dance routine that allows Agnes to swipe the special pocket watch made of Corinthian metal he carries to make himself immune to the siren song.
With the pocket watch secured and her mom safe, Bianca uses her song to expose Dort to the guests and police. As the walls close in around him, Dort grabs Bianca and threatens to kill her using his pyro abilities. He fires off a warning shot that hits the rope holding the chandelier above them, but what he wasn’t banking on was Ajax coming to Bianca’s rescue.
Removing his hat, Ajax turns Dort to stone, and the chandelier falls down upon him, crushing him and turning him into a pile of rubble. The moment was definitely a shocking death, but also felt rushed in the manner in which Dort's villainous scheme came to fruition and was thwarted, all within the span of the episode.
Perhaps that was for the best, because the true threat heading into the finale is Isaac and the Hydes. In the chaos of the gala, Isaac was able to sneak into Nevermore and kidnap Pugsley as the episode drew to a close, setting up an intense showdown in the season finale!
