The wait for Wednesday season 2 is underway, but Netflix has served up some exciting new information about the second season of Tim Burton’s Emmy-winning series!
During the 2025 Tudum live event, Netflix revealed Lady Gaga will be joining the cast of the second season of Netflix’s breakout horror comedy. As confirmed via Twitter after the Tudum event, Gaga will guest star as Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday in season 2.
As exciting as it was to get final confirmation on her involvement, we've known for some time that Gaga was going to be appearing in the second season. Now we just know for certain it is happening with the official confirmation from Netflix.
Gaga joins a growing cast list for the second season of Netflix’s hit series! The season 2 cast will be a mix of both new and returning faces, with Netflix assembling quite an ensemble for the Jenna Ortega-led series. In addition to Ortega and Gaga, Wednesday season 2’s cast includes Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester), Steve Buscemi (Principal Dort), Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), Victor Dorobantu (Thing), Georgie Farmer (Ajax Petropolus), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Sheriff Ritchie Santiago), Christopher Lloyd (Professor Orloff), Joanna Lumley (Grandmama Hester Frump), Heather Matarazzo (Judi), Jamie McShane (Sheriff Donovan Galpin), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene Ottinger), Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Thandiwe Newton (Dr. Rachel Fairburn), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), Billie Piper (Isadora Capri), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Joonas Suotamo (Lurch), and Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams).
In addition to the casting news, Netflix also surprised fans with a look at the first six minutes of the season 2 premiere to close out the Tudum 2025 event. The clip offered up a look at what Wednesday has been up to over the summer break and also gave us a look at one of the season's new villains, played by Haley Joel Osment.
Without giving too much away, let's just say that Osment's character is giving Dollmaker vibes and we cannot wait to see how Wednesday gets out of the predicament she's found herself in.
Unlike with the show’s first season, season 2 will be split into two parts, with the first part of the season arriving on Aug. 6 followed by part 2’s release on Sept. 3. While we do know that Wednesday season 2 will be split into two parts, it’s not yet known how many episodes each of the two parts will consist of as Netflix has been known not to follow a set structure, which can lead to uneven episode splits at times.
Regardless of the plan, we cannot wait for the second season of Wednesday to finally arrive this August on Netflix and to see what new adventures and horrors await us when Part 1 drops!
