Who does House of the Dragon star Emma D'Arcy most want to star in a movie with? Keanu Reeves, of course

This upcoming weekend, acting legend Keanu Reeves will wow audiences in his latest big screen role: as Shadow the Hedgehog, the moody yin to Sonic's manic yang, in Song the Hedgehog 3. The role probably won't earn him an Oscar nomination, but at this point in his career, Keanu Reeves can do pretty much anything he wants without objection from anyone. Barring spectacularly unforeseen and horrifying circumstances, he's bought himself a lifetime of goodwill.

And I'm not the only one who's dazzled by him. Just lately, House of the Dragon star Emma D'Arcy — who plays the multi-faceted Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen on the Game of Thrones prequel show — appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and was asked who, if anybody, they'd like to appear in a buddy cop movie with. Obviously, D'Arcy didn't have to think long about it: "Without overthinking this, the person I just want to say is Keanu Reeves. It's the correct answer and you mustn't second guess it. The name comes from the gut and it's Keanu Reeves."

Happy Sad Confused host Josh Horowitz followed up by asking D'Arcy to name some of their favorite Keanu Reeves movies, and their enthusiasm was catching: "My Own Private Idaho, The f***ing Matrix, John Wick, John f***ing Wick. Imagine if that was real, a buddy cop movie that’s me and Keanu Reeves!"

You can't argue with a list like that. I do find it a little hard to imagine a buddy cop movie with Emma D'Arcy and Keanu Reeves, but hard doesn't mean impossible. If it ever happens, it could be a chance for D'Arcy to show a different side of themselves than they show in House of the Dragon, perhaps one who dresses like they do on the red carpet:

I can picture this person in a John Wick-esque action spectacular, sure. Get on it Hollywood!

In the meantime, D'Arcy is gearing up to put on Rhaenyra's silver-white wig and film a third season of House of the Dragon, which probably won't appear on our screens until 2026. After that, House of the Dragon will run for one more season before closing out. After that, Keanu is waiting.
