The wait is officially over! The highly anticipated Alien prequel series, Alien: Earth, has kicked off with its first two episodes airing on FX and is now available to stream on Hulu. The series has been receiving positive reactions so far from both critics and viewers alike, and there's been a lot of talk about the show's star-studded cast.
While you might not recognize every single actor in this new sci-fi horror show, a few familiar faces will definitely catch your eye, especially if you’re a Game of Thrones fan. Oh, you didn't know? In the first episode, we're introduced to two characters who are played by well-known actors known for starring in the hit HBO fantasy series. Can you guess which Game of Thrones stars made the jump from Westeros to outer space and what roles they play in this action-packed, otherworldly adventure?
Essie Davis
If one of your guesses were the amazingly talented actress Essie Davis, you would be correct! In Alien: Earth, she portrays the role of Dame Sylvia, a human employee at Prodigy Corporation and one of the lead scientists in charge of the company's advanced hybrid program.
Davis is an Australian actress and singer who you might recognize from her previous role as Lady Crane in three episodes of Game of Thrones season 6. She's also known for her other roles in TV shows such as Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, The White Princess, Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities and One Day. Her most recent roles were playing Natalie Dal-Bello in the Netflix miniseries Apple Cider Vinegar and Lynette Maison in the Prime Video drama miniseries The Narrow Road to the Deep North.
For all the horror fans out there, you might also remember Davis from being the lead of the underrated psychological horror flick The Babadook.
Enzo Cilenti
The other Game of Thrones actor who makes an appearance in Alien: Earth is Enzo Cilenti. But unlike Davis, who is part of the main cast, he appears in a recurring role throughout the series. He portrays the character, Petrovich, who is a crew member of the spaceship USCSS Maginot.
Cilenti is known for previously taking on the role of Yezzan zo Qaggaz in Game of Thrones. He appeared in two episodes each of the fifth and sixth seasons. Besides this fantasy series, he is also known for having roles in the TV shows Jekyll and Hyde, Luther, Les Misérables, Breeders, Domina, The Girlfriend Experience and The Serpent Queen. Additionally, he most recently played the role of Ralph Redwell in the Black Mirror season 7 episode "Hotel Reverie."
