Natalie Dormer on interview rampage, to do AMA next week

As part of that other huge scifi/fantasy franchise she’s in, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Natalie Dormer will be doing a Reddit AMA next week. If you’re dying to ask Margaery Tyrell questions about her role in the upcoming season, head over at 1pm on Monday the 17th, EST.

Not that Dormer has been holding back on her opinions on Margaery in Hunger Games interviews. As she told the New York Post:

“Margaery Tyrell is a Kate Middleton/Michelle Obama hybrid, a first lady/princess, trying to win over hearts and minds. The Princess Di effect, you may call it.”

Below, we’ve got more quotes on her opinion of the character, which she admitted to Jonathan Ross she basically built from scratch.

Her inner feminist also comes out when she talks about Margaery.

"“Isn’t it a shame when women feel they have to rely on sexuality as their default mode? Sometimes a woman’s looks or sensuality are too readily wrapped up in their power. When I wake up on a Sunday morning with a slight hangover, in the gym with no makeup on, that’s who Natalie Dormer really is. The girl next door who gets a spot on her forehead occasionally. I would embrace the opportunity to play more of those kinds of girls, who don’t have that arsenal.”"

Perhaps that’s why she says her dream role at this point is to play a character who wears modern day clothes, and doesn’t have elaborate hair and make up. it would certainly be a change after going from Anne Boleyn to Margaery to Cressida.

But my personal favorite quote from her on Margaery:

“I think she’d make a brilliant psychotherapist. I have this theory that she’d be the best therapist ever.”

Considering how she listened to Sansa spill all her secrets back in Season 3, and that Tommen scene in Season 4, I can see that.
