Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire fans are some of the most rabid and insane fans in all of fantasy-fiction…but you already knew that. From flocking in droves to conventions dressed in full Game of Thrones cosplay, to selling out a minor-league baseball team’s home game because George R.R. Martin was in attendance, their dedication to Game of Thrones can only be described as fanatical. With the ever-increasing popularity of filming news during the off-season, fans have been flocking to filming locations all over the world just for the chance to see an actual Game of Thrones set, bolstering the economies of the countries hosting the show’s cast and crew in the process.
Entertainment Weekly recently chronicled the passion exuded by a few select Game of Thrones fans who travel to the show’s various filming locations in order to get up close and personal with their favorite show.
Fans have been overwhelming these filming locations, and getting some pretty spectacular pictures along the way. According to EW, some of the sites that have been most popular with fans are in Northern Ireland.

There are loads of activities available for fans who decide to travel to some of these filming locations. Guided tours seem to be the norm, which again, have helped to bolster the local economies. With more news and photos coming in from the filming locations for Game of Thrones Season 6, expect there to be more of this kind of thing in the near future.
