A few highlights from the photo session with Doctor Who’s David Tennant and Matt Smith at Wizard World NYC 2016

From the looks of it, both David Tennant and Matt Smith had a grand time at Wizard World NYC this past weekend. The event included the usual convention activities of both an interactive question and answer panel with the two beloved Doctors, and an opportunity for fans to have professional photos taken with them.

All of these images are special personal moments captured in time, but some stand out more than most. The following are a few examples of these exceptional shots.

More from Doctor Who

It is always fun to see geek icons cosplaying. Tenth Doctor Tennant spent some time dressed in a red-lined suit jacket and wayfarer sunglasses, a la Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor. Tennant completed the look with Capaldi’s iconic pose, which was inspired by Third Doctor Jon Pertwee. Mirroring Tennant was fan James Bonk.

Fan Maddy Burns brought some clever signs to use as props in her photo with Tennant. They read “Oh my gosh, it’s David Tennant!” and “Oh my gosh, it’s Maddy Burns!” with arrows pointing to one another.

Both Tennant and Smith posed with fan Susan M.’s son Brendan, who was dressed in a vintage suit and gas mask as Jamie from the Ninth Doctor adventure ‘The Empty Child‘/’The Doctor Dances.’

To have one’s marriage proposal witnessed by one’s favorite geek icons is a very popular goal for fans, particularly Whovians. Tennant and Smith were pleasantly caught off guard when fans Brad and Missy (Levy aka Skywalker) got engaged during the photo op. A series of photos were taken of the moment when Brad got down on one knee while a stunned Missy stood with Tennant and Smith. You can see a montage of these shots, as well as ones of the smiling couple and the R2D2 ring, on Instagram.
