He already has experience with wizards and magic, but Matthew Lewis would be interested in adding time and space travel to his resume, being interested in a guest appearance on Doctor Who.
Pretty much no matter what else Matthew Lewis does in his career, he will be remembered for his work as a youngster. Portraying Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter series, Lewis will always have a special place amongst fans of fantasy literature and movies.
While Lewis’ place is secure in the fantasy realm, he has also added science fiction to his resume. As one of the stars of the new Alien audio drama, Lewis has dealt with aliens. Now, he may be interested in adding time and space travel to his list, as he stated his interest in a guest role on Doctor Who.

It is also interesting to note that Lewis has been a bit of a fan of Doctor Who in the past. While he said he has not watched the show since David Tennant was the Doctor, he has watched a good deal of it, and is familiar with the happenings therein. While it may take a bit of time to get used to the Twelfth Doctor, especially since his last viewings were two incarnations ago, it would be interesting to see what type of role he would have on the program.
Of course, it would make sense for anyone to be interested in a role on Doctor Who, fan or not. Even though Lewis has certainly made a name for himself as an actor, Doctor Who can still open up a great many other opportunities down the road. And, perhaps, if Lewis is interested in becoming the Doctor at some point in the future, he can get a taste for the role by watching Capaldi.
