Along with Big Finish and the novels, comic books are a great way to see the ongoing adventures of our favorite past Doctors. Now, the Third Doctor is getting his own Doctor Who comic books.
Titan Comics has become a big part of the Whoniverse. As the creators of the Doctor Who comic series, they have been a vital part of continuing the adventures of some of our favorite past Doctors. Yet, only a few of the Doctors have been displayed in comic book form, with the Fourth and the Eighth through Twelfth Doctors having their own series.
Now, another favorite from Classic Doctor Who is being added to the mix. One of the most beloved Doctors of the original era, Jon Pertwee’s Third Doctor, is going to be making his Titan Comics debut, travelling with his companion Jo Grant.

The new adventure for the Third Doctor has another tie to the show. Paul Cornell, who is best known for his work on the Wolverine comic series, among others, will be a part of this five part mini-series. He had previously written episodes for Doctor Who, notably the Ninth Doctor episode Father’s Day, making him a familiar presense for fans.
This series also has a great deal of promise. Entitled “The Heralds of Destructions,” the Third Doctor and Jo will be teaming up with UNIT and the Brigadier, facing an alien menace after it crash landed on Earth. Meanwhile, as they face off against that that threat, another threat is waiting back at UNIT headquarters.

Even though it has been decades since the Third Doctor had new adventures on television, we can still get to see him in action in these comics. Now, with these new adventures, Titan Comics is getting ever closer to having new adventures for each of the Doctors.
