Doctor Who: Unit – Silenced Details Announced

Recently, Big Finish announced that their most recent Doctor Who spinoff for UNIT would involve the agency facing off against the Silence. Now, we have a few more details as to what this adventure will involve.

UNIT versus the Silence. It seems like an excellent Doctor Who adventure, one where the Doctor can swoop in and save the day, protecting the Earth and give us the opportunity to see Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and Osgood once again. However, that was the matchup for the first announced Big Finish spinoff for UNIT, as they would take on those mysterious beings from Series Six.

Now, we have a bit more information. The other day, Big Finish put out an announcement giving more details as to what UNIT will be facing as the Silence have broken through the Doctor’s trap on Earth, and are now looking to take the planet for themselves.

Not only do we have the confirmation that Kate will be joined by Osgood and Captain Josh Carter, but there are others helping to reinforce the team. Lieutenant Sam Bishop will be coming back from his time as an international troubleshooter, and Colonel Shindi will be returning to duty for the first time since the events of UNIT: Extinction.

Not only will this squad be facing off against the Silence, but they will have another foe to keep an eye on. Journalist Jacqui McGee is watching both sides of the struggle in her attempt to uncover what, exactly, UNIT does as an agency. However, her investigation, aimed at telling the public of UNIT’s actions, uncovers even more than she could have imagined.

Even though this latest adventure is slated to come out in November, the description of the production is certainly enough to make us look forward to the release with great anticipation. It will be a long five to six months before we get to hear this drama.
