Doctor Who: Series Ten Will See Return of Missy
By David Hill
One of the most delightful recurring characters on Doctor Who, Missy has taken the Master in a truly different direction. Yesterday, Michelle Gomez confirmed that she will be returning to the show in Series Ten in her familiar role.
When Pearl Mackie was announced as Bill, the latest companion on Doctor Who, a number of people connected to the show weighed in. Among those was Michelle Gomez, the delightfully wicked Missy, who had some ideas as to what she would do to the Doctor’s latest companion.
It appears as though she is going to get her chance to put some sort of scheme in action. Yesterday at MegaCon Orlando, Gomez confirmed that she will return for Series Ten, bringing Missy back for the third consecutive season to add another chapter in her battles with the Twelfth Doctor.

It is certainly going to be interesting to see how Bill reacts to the Doctor’s friendly enemy. We know that Bill is going to question what she sees, and will not revert to being a scared child blindly following orders. Will her willingness to question others and stand up for herself also extend to her interactions with Missy? And how will Missy handle such impertinence?
That was not the only bombshell that Gomez dropped during her time at MegaCon. When asked as to what her perfect episode would be, she replied that it would involve her, Captain Jack, and a shirtless Peter Capaldi as himself… with Daft Punk playing. ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,’ perhaps? If that episode were to happen, so much for Doctor Who being a family friendly show.
