Doctor Who: Peter Capaldi Keeps Giving Back to Fans
By David Hill
It is well known that Peter Capaldi is not just the Doctor, but also a long standing fan of Doctor Who. Perhaps that is why he continues to be so approachable with other fans, taking the time to make their day.
Peter Capaldi is back at it again when it comes to delighting young fans of Doctor Who. Far from being the gruff Twelfth Doctor, he has continually proven to be a warm, passionate friend for his younger fans, especially. Capaldi, a fan himself, truly understands how to make their day better, taking the time to answer their questions and to give each one the attention that they deserve.
This happened once again during a question and answer session at this year’s Fan Expo Dallas. Fielding a question from a young fan, Capaldi offered him advice on how he could eventually be involved in Doctor Who at some point in the future.
"“You’ve got to be nice to your Mum,” Capaldi said. “You’ve got to be kind to people. You’ve got to work hard, and make the very best of the gifts that you have, of your talents, and take them out into the world.”"

This was not the only bit of advice that was granted. Praising the fan for being a “clever, and bright, and creative person,” Capaldi also told him that it was important to bring his confidence in himself forward, and to continue to believe in his dreams. Even if those dreams seem far away, taking that time to pursue them and to follow those goals can lead to a great reward down the line.
After all, the Doctor is a symbol of hope and joy to the masses throughout the universe. He helps protect and guide the weak and defenseless, even if his gruff demeanor would tend to make one think that he would rather be elsewhere. Capaldi himself takes that mantra of being there for others to heart, bringing that joy to fans everywhere.
