See the first pic of Kit Harington in costume near Seville, and another cast member arrives

As Game of Thrones Season 7 filming continues near the city of Seville, we’ve been looking out for video or photo evidence of cast members in costume, filming. Today, we bring you a grainy photograph of Kit Harington, dressed in Stark leathers with a steel House Stark gorget. He’s probably preparing to shoot a scene at the ruins of Italica, where a lot of filming is happening this week. (They’re about five miles northwest of Seville, where the cast members are staying.) Take a look:

What’s particularly great about this pic is that the Instagram account where it’s posted, asterix_astrikur, is operated by a dog. And not just any dog: a cute little Pomeranian belonging to Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, aka Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane. Here’s a photo of Björnsson’s daughter with the Pomeranian, posted on Björnsson’s own Instagram account a couple weeks back. Note that he mentions asterix_astrikur in the caption.

So apparently the Mountain’s dog decided to Facetime Jon Snow. You’ve gotta love the internet.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Björnsson was likely Facetiming with his daughter and happened to be in the same area as Kit Harington. Let’s read into that a bit, shall we?

WARNING: SPOILERS

This is Ser Gregor. He doesn’t speak much, either, but he does love spoilers!

The ruins of Italica are standing in for the Dragonpit of King’s Landing. According to a leak of Season 7 plot details that may or may not be accurate, at one point in the season, many of the major players—Cersei, Euron, Dany, Jon—meet at the Dragonpit. Supposedly, Jon brings a wight to the meeting, and Cersei commands Ser Gregor to chop it into little bits. He does so, to no avail.

If Harington and Björnsson are both filming at the Dragonpit, does that bear this theory out, or are we making much ado about nothing? You decide.

Also, in honor the cute dog who brought us this photo, here is footage of the cute dog being cute:

Relatedly, Watchers on the Wall posted a few screengrabs from Björnsson’s Snapchat, showing him getting into his Mountain makeup for the coming day. Liam Cunningham (Davos) guest stars.

Next, here’s some new footage of cast members Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne) and Rory McCann (the Hound) greeting their public. The third gentleman is Staz Nair, who played Dothraki warrior Qhono in Season 6. Him showing up in Seville is consistent with him being on hand in Bilbao, hanging out with the case there. By the looks of it, Qhono will have a role in Season 7, probably as Daenerys’ go-to guy for all things Dothraki-related.

Speaking of Daenerys, here’s footage of Emilia Clarke receiving a terrifying warm welcome in Seville.

And what the hell, here’s a little more footage of that dog being cute, bounding through a windy field with Björnsson.

He is the most important dog in the Game of Thrones-sphere right now.
