Why the 11th Doctor is One of the Best Doctors of All Time

Everyone has their favorite Doctor and their reasons why and here is why the 11th Doctor is my favorite Doctor of all time.

Matt Smith came crashing into my life as the 11th Doctor with no eyebrows and I somehow fell in love. Not just with this weird actor but rather his take on the beloved character. He was the youngest actor to take on the role but there was something so ancient about the way that he played the Timelord that made me want to know more.

To put into perspective how I came about Matt Smith, I was in London on a trip and got to see his premiere actually in England. At the time, I was a die hard for David Tennant and didn’t want this new Doctor. But obviously my feelings changed.

The episode that made him my favorite and is still my favorite episode to this day is “Vincent and the Doctor”. I was a freshmen in college and didn’t know what I wanted to major in. I watched that episode and knew that I wanted to act. I wanted to be a companion or the Doctor himself.

So I majored in performance theater so that I could maybe one day work with Matt Smith. It’s why I have a “Geronimo” tattoo on my rib and it is why I constantly keep trying to make it in a strange business. The 11th Doctor gave me a strength to go after my dreams and that is why he is always going to be my favorite Doctor.

So Matt Smith, thank you. You made Doctor Who very special for me and without your Doctor, who knows where I would have ended up. Thank you.
