Wildling spearwives don’t last long on Game of Thrones, and Rose Leslie’s feisty Ygritte came out on the short end of her star-crossed love affair with Jon Snow.
Leslie’s first acting job was in the TV documentary Locked Up Abroad (2007), but her acting career took off with Thrones, as she told The Scotsman in 2015:
"The phenomenon that is Game Of Thrones has propelled many actors associated with it into the minds of directors and producers and it’s a fabulous position to be in … Being given a gun (in Luther) stopped me pining for a bow and arrow. I got to shoot blanks, clumsily, and had to make sure I didn’t close my eyes when I pulled the trigger."
The Scottish-born Leslie starred alongside Vin Diesel as Chloe in 2015’s The Last Witch Hunter (photo above). She also starred as Bea in Honeymoon (2014), Athena in Sticky Notes (2016) and Dr. Amy Menser in Morgan (2016).
Leslie got a lot of exposure playing Gwen Dawson on the popular Downton Abby TV series (2010, above). She’s also appeared as Sarah in The Great Fire (2014) and Emma Lane in Luther (2015).
Leslie appears as Maia Rindell in the TV series The Good Fight in 2017.
