First Look: ‘The Eaters of Light’ pictures from BBC

In an episode that is bound to bring back memories of Amy and Rory; the Doctor, Bill, and Nardole take a trip to ancient Rome in Scotland.

Let’s take a first look at the synopsis of the episode:

"A long time ago, the ninth legion of the Roman army vanished into the mists of Scotland. Bill has a theory about what happened, and the Doctor has a time machine. But when they arrive in ancient Aberdeenshire, what they find is a far greater threat than any army. In a cairn, on a hillside, is a doorway leading to the end of the world…"

Before we give you the pictures, let’s just highlight something here. Remember that this is the last episode before we go into the action driven two-part episode. They find a “doorway leading to the end of the world” the last time they found doorways like that? Extremis? It looks like my theory might not be too out of the box after all.

Here are the four pictures that the BBC has released for us, ironically, most of them including Nardole in what looks like a bathrobe?

Yeah, those are definitely pyjamas. Where’s Bill in all of this?

Based on the sword, I would say these are the Romans…we’re all thinking the same thing. While it would be interesting, and a call back to Amy and Rory if they were plastic, I don’t think that’s going to happen. But a line about the two would be nice to have!

Even more pyjamas. I’m getting worried at the lack of Bill. Where is she? They can’t go on the adventure without her! It looks like they might have gotten called out of nowhere, though.

This is the icon picture for the episode. This, plus the videos given after the episode gives us 100% assurance Bill is in the episode, which just makes those other pictures very confusing. Wonder what the Doctor could want to do that he brings Nardole and not Bill…

What do you think the episode could entail based on these pictures? Not much has been given…but a first look is always nice!
