Not long ago, hackers stole an alleged 1.5 terabytes of data from HBO. Among other things, the hackers stole script outlines for episodes of Game of Thrones season 7, as well as personal information about the season 7 cast. A couple of Reddit sleuths have uncovered what could be information about the casting of a very important character. Potential SPOILERS follow.
What important character are we talking about? Rhaegar Targaryen, the crown prince of the Seven Kingdoms at the outset of Robert’s Rebellion, Daenerys older brother, and Jon Snow’s father, according to HBO. Looking at the leaked information, Redditor tyrantting noticed that Welsh actor Wilf Scolding’s name came up in a key field.
"Its in the HBO leaked file, we cant show full image because there’s personal information. But he’s on the list under ‘Rhaegar.’"
In addition to the hack, Reddittor Twerk4Christ picked apart Scolding’s Twitter history, adding even more fuel to the fire by bringing Aisling Franciosi, who played Jon Snow’s mother Lyanna Stark in last year’s flashback, into the conversation.
"…in late September, Lyanna’s actress Aisling Franciosi started following him on twitter. He followed her back, and he also started following the Game of Thrones twitter account and Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth)."
Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen following one another on Twitter? It’s almost too good to be true. Rhaegar allegedly kidnapped Lyanna Stark and took her to the Tower of Joy, where Ned Stark found her dying from childbirth, as we saw in season 6’s “The Winds of Winter.” However, the circumstances of Lyanna’s “abduction” remain unclear. If Rhaegar does appear in season 7, in all likelihood via another flashback, it will hopefully lend some light to the subject.
Here’s Scolding doing a dramatic reading of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song.
We can see it — if you tossed on a silver wig, Scolding would be a dead ringer for Rhaegar.
Of course, nothing is confirmed until Scolding appears on screen, but the evidence is mounting.
