Twice Upon a Time can expect to make Classic Fans happy

Remember when we talked about whether or not lost episodes should be recreated for New fans? It looks like that just might be happening in the Twice Upon a Time!

To skeptics out there, it looks like Rachel Talalay might be giving us the information we need.

"“I feel like I’m an expert in the Tenth Planet! I think I’ve watched Tenth Planet more than anybody,” Talalay told the This Week in Time Travel"

Not only was this about the finale and talking about Mondasian Cybermen, but Talalay also hinted that she’d been watching certain parts multiple times for “what would become clear” when we watch the Christmas special.

She also pointed out that she’s been watching animated versions, which would lead people to wonder if Twice Upon a Time is going to take place during that lost part of The Tenth Planet. As many Classic fans and probably New fans are aware, it’s hard to find The Tenth Planet, and impossible to find the fourth part.

Britbox, which gives a subscription to watch Classic Who doesn’t have the episode at all. This leaves the only option to stream it on sites where it’s been put up by fans. The fourth episode is part of the “lost series”, making it impossible to find…except for animated versions.

What’s so big about looking at animated versions?

That being said, Talalay must be looking specifically at the lost episode. Does that mean Twice Upon a Time will be a new version? The audio’s available, and we have the people to do it! I don’t see why an off version of the final episode of the Tenth Planet couldn’t work.

There have also been rumors that there will be more Ben and Polly than people were expecting. All of this looks great for any Classic fans who are looking for a flashback. I’m especially excited, as Twice Upon a Time seems to answer my question: why does the Doctor disappear in the Tenth Planet?

It’s like this was all meant to be!
