Reports over social media have begun speculating that season eleven of Doctor Who has begun filming this week.

It’s been general knowledge among the fandom that season eleven would begin filming right around the beginning of November. Now, reports are coming in via social media and local news outlets that Doctor Who has already started filming.

According to Sussex Express, the Bluebell Railway closed for a day on October 11th. It carried enough suspicion that people began to ask questions to the BBC and Sussex.

"The Bluebell Railway could not confirm that Doctor Who was the subject of the activity. No trains were scheduled to run that day in any case."

They reached out to the BBC, who say “this wasn’t something they comment on”. Granted, I don’t know how BBC answers most inquiries, but that sounds a bit like a non-answer to me.

Connection to Matt Smith rumors?

If it is true, the October 11th filming could be what is starting all the Matt Smith rumors about the Christmas Special. Most of the tweets and rumors about him in the Christmas special began around that time. It seems Jodie Whittaker and her companion(s) have started the season eleven adventure.

Given the fact that there’s no footage, it looks like whatever security Chibnall has put into place is working against the infamous #DWSR. With all the hype over filming, we’re all on our toes waiting for the first glimpse. Normally you could expect this group of film set fanatics to have it, but Chibnall is very much against people getting into the filming after the catastrophe that was the end of Peter Capaldi’s run.

Next: Matt Lucas isn't done with Doctor Who!

It’s also good to mention that filming this early could also indicate some kind of spring episode or half series like we predicted. Sure enough, if this is filming, our rumor mill could be right on track with the idea of something happening in spring.
