There will be blood. No, seriously, there is going to be a ton of blood in Westworld  Season 2 – or, at least one of the episodes.

Details regarding Westworld  Season 2 have be scarce, but we know that co-creator Lisa Joy is directing Episode 4. While we don’t know what the episode entails, it appears that the fourth episode of Season 2 is going to be extremely violent. How violent you might ask? Well, according to the show’s creators, it’s going to be a bloodbath.

Westworld Creators Talk About The New Season Of The Show

At the 2017 Emmys, TV Line asked Westworld’s creators, Lisa Joy and Jonathon Nolan, about the show’s second season. They didn’t reveal much; however, Joy disclosed that Season 2 is going to be much different from anything we’ve seen:

"“In season one everything was calm. You kind of understood that the thing that was awakening within the robots could lead to some sort of outbreak. Now, the outbreak has happened, and we find the park in a very different place. So, the entire setup is kind of a bit different.”"

The interviewer then asked about Lisa Joy’s upcoming directorial debut, when Nolan said something quite interesting:

"“[Nolan to Joy] You’ve made it far more violent and disturbing than we ever intended. It was quite a placid episode, and Lisa has kind of turned it into a bloodbath.”"

Nolan’s quote is very interesting, because we have seen tons of violence on the show. As the show’s creator, he has seen every bit of blood spilled on Westworld. So, for him to refer to Joy’s episode as a “bloodbath”, is something worth looking forward to.

We can assume that a lot of the violence will stem from Dolores’ host rebellion, but we don’t know to what degree. The trailer for Westworld Season 2 showed us glimpses of the chaos, and by all accounts, it looks like all out war. We’ll hopefully learn more (or anything) about Season 2 in the following months, but for now, we can only speculate.

Westworld Season 2 will premiere Spring 2018.
